2014 was the year I really fell for Clarins, both from a skincare and make up point of view. I partially blame my Mother because she’s Clarins skincare balmy! I told her that the huge 400ml Cleanser and Toner bottles are back and she’s rushing round looking for her debit card.
After dabbling with a few samples and falling in love with my HydraQuench Cream, I got a whole host of goodies for Christmas.
As I’m a huge fan of the HQ Cream, I got a lovely set with the cream and minis of the HydraQuench Cream-Mask (full size 75ml £33.00) and HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase (full size 30ml £42.00). My skin has been on the drier side in recent months and it can be really sensitive but I’ve found using these two, either layered together for a double hit of hydration or separately, has really helped plump up my skin and bring back it’s vibrancy.
The mask is like the cream but thicker and more intensive, it kind of reminds me of Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask in that it works well slapped on before bed. I’ve found it really revives my skin and gets rid of that tight, dry feeling – especially on my cheeks. The serum is like having a glass of cold water thrown in your face on a hot day – cool but delightful. It works really well under make up as it not only hydrates but leaves a lovely matte finish for my foundation to go on top.
Usually, I use a cleansing oil or balm to go to town on the nasties/make up from my face. I do this every night but sometimes I just don’t have the time to do a full-cleanse on a morning. Sometimes, it’s probably not really that necessary. So, that’s where the Cleansing Milk for Combination/Oily Skin and Toning Lotion with Iris for Combination/Oily Skin come into play. I use a cotton pad with a blob on Cleansing Milk each morning to rid my face of any left over masks/oil which leaves my skin not only feeling soft and hydrated but also balanced. The toner, well I’m not always sold on toners but this one is really refreshing (perfect for the AM) and soothing which my skin really appreciates at the moment.
I’m definitely in the market for more Clarins skincare goodness so if you have any recommendations, send them my way!
Love, Kate xo
