Tom Ford is the ultimate luxury lipstick choice for me. Do they cost the price of a good night out? Yes. Are they fabulous? Heck yes!
Recently, there has been a cheeky little exclusive to Selfridges which is the exciting “Lips and Boys” collection that is currently limited edition. What’s so exciting, I hear you ask? Well each of the 50 strong lipsticks is named after a boy which I think is a really fun idea. Naturally, being in love with Mr Fassbender, I picked up the shade “Michael” which is a medium, slightly frosty pink. Fassy and pink? No brainer for me.
Don’t mind my wonky lips – anyone else really hate their lips?
I really love this colour, it’s a real “pick me up” shade as it adds vibrancy to the lips. The finish is slightly frosty but in the most flattering way. I usually find frost finishes a little dated and unflattering but not with this at all. It gives a healthy glow to the lips that I didn’t really expect. As with all Tom Ford lipsticks, it’s very comfortable on the lips and lasts well before needing to be re-applied.
Now, the catch – these are mini lipsticks which are almost half the size of the original line. I knew this buying the lipstick which was £26 – that’s £11 cheaper than the permanent line. Thankfully, I didn’t need much persuading when Selfridges had a cheeky 10% off. What I didn’t envisage is how tiny they were! I was a little shocked when the lipstick arrived to say the least.
However, these are the perfect luxury buy for me, the formula is wonderful and you really cannot go wrong with a bit of Tom Ford. I probably won’t be adding to the collection unless I spot a shade that I must have (no more pinky nudes, Kate)
What do you make of the collection?
Love, Kate xo
