The Body Shop has been expanding their makeup range over the past couple of years and they’ve really upped their game.
The latest release is the new Down to Earth Eye Palettes* which come in a variety of smoky looks and shades. I have two of the palettes to discuss in today’s post but there are another 3 quads and a lovely 8 shadow palette. Each quad is £15.00 and the shadows are interchangeable, thus giving you a freedom of customising your own personal palette. The 8 shadow palette is only £22, meaning it works out at £8 cheaper than buying two separate.
The Smoky Gold* palette is the warmer of the two palettes, really focusing on those more yellow toned golden shades. I particularly like the nude matte shade for an all over base colour and the chocolate toned shimmer in this palette. The shadows are buildable in pigmentation and it does take a little while to get the desired level of colour. This is not necessarily a bad point as it means there’s less room for error. There is quite a lot of fallout from the shadows as the consistency is relatively powdery.
The Smoky Grey* version is a funny one because the shades can look more green in certain lighting. This palette has a lovely pink toned shimmer for a quick wash of colour and I found the pigmentation to be better in this palette. Whilst I don’t normally wear grey eyeshadow, I did get lots of compliments whilst wearing this.
I’m impressed with the design of these palettes but I do wish the formula was more pigmented and buttery. However, that’s just my personal preference when it comes to eyeshadow. I definitely recommend you check these out and let me know what you think!
