SPRING MAKE UP LOOK

I thought it was about time to crack out a spring themed post and video – praying for the temperature to rise a little and the sun to stay shinning. This post goes hand in hand with the lovely Živa at Nothin’ Fancy. Really – so go check out her fantastic blog. Today, I have for you a light and glowy look – with a pop of colour of course – which is perfect as we head into the warmer, brighter months.
I began with a smidge of Benefit The Porefessional Primer which I originally hated all over my face but I’ve got into using it on my nose area and it helps massively with oil around that area. I followed up buy adding a radiant primer, today I used Bourjois Happy Light Primer in Luminous which is super light and gives just the right amount of glow to not jump over into “shimmer face-ville”.
For foundation, I went for Revlon Nearly Naked in 150 Nude which I haven’t used much at all recently but it gives a nice light but good coverage without being at all cakey. I like to leave my concealer until I’ve done my eyes so I can clear up any under eye mess.
Eye wise, I kept it warm toned but relatively neutral – I popped a bit of MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study as a base and swished a bit of MAC Woodwinked all over the lid and defined the crease slightly with MAC Satin Taupe. I haven’t used that much MAC on my eyes recently but I think I’ve fallen back in love with Woodwinked. Then I added a hint of MAC Naked Lunch into my inner corners to brighten and smudged a bit of Woodwinked into my bottom lash line. I added a little flick of gel liner by using my new Topshop Liner in Ink and finished off with my latest mascara, YSL Baby Doll.
To finish off the face I added my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla under my eyes and through the centre of my face to conceal and brighten. This stuff is seriously incredible. For cheeks, I skipped bronzer all together -guuurl you crazy – and went for my new favourite product, Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzer in Pink Peony. Not sure why its marketed as a bronzer as it’s quite clearly a blusher but regardless, I am in love with how glowy this is whilst adding warmth and colour to my face.  I finished off by boosting the glow with Topshop Glow in Polished on my cheekbones, browbone and cupids bow. It’s picked up beautifully on camera too.
Lips wise I wanted something bright but glossy so I combined MAC Viva Glam Nicki and Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Picnic in the Park to finish the look.
What do you think?
Love, Katie xo
