As if it’s been two whole weeks since the last awards season post? It seems like forever ago!
Last night was the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAGs) and I’ll say it now – major disappointment on the red carpet front.  Anyone else feel it was a bit of a letdown following such a high from the Golden Globes? Hopefully the BAFTAs and Oscars will make up for that.
Without further ado, here’s my picks for the best dressed…

The future Mrs Manganiello never fails to look like a true screen siren does she? Red is definitely her colour and this Donna Karen Atelier design fit her hourglass figure perfectly. I adore the one one shoulder vibe especially as it’s quite risky for us bigger breasted women. The bodice is sexy without being trashy and the way the fabric drapes across.
Matthew McConaughey is a lucky man – Camila is absolutely gorgeous every awards season and last night was no acception. Another DK design on the carpet, this one is a beautiful aubergine gown which could have gone under the radar if it wasn’t for the beautiful split train. The hair and make up was simple but stunning and really let the dress into the forefront.

‘ Taystee’looking, well..tasty! The Orange is the New Black star had a major Cinderella moment in this gorgeous Christian Siriano number. The top half of the dress is especially beautiful as the fabric really makes the dress stand out. I adored her contrasting fuchsia lips and the hair was very classic and beautiful.

Ah, major old school moment right here! Felicity has been storming this awards season showing herself for the true leading lady she is and last nights Balenciaga number was perfect. She was the air of sophistication in this light pink number. The neckline brought back memories of Sienna Miller’s stunning Balenciaga number at the American Sniper premiere. I’ll forgive Felicity for the back of her hair (that bun was dire) because the dress and her simple make up really shone.

I swear I feature Naomi in each post I do – why? ‘Cos the woman can do no wrong in my eyes. She literally, never gets it wrong! This almost black, navy Balenciaga number was simple, unlike many of Naomi’s past choices but it really worked because it fitted her body wonderfully and the neckline was gorgeous. I loved her effortless hair and make up which left her looking super polished.

Kate Winslet is that you? Reese is really channeling the British star in this custom made Giorgio Armani number. White can be tricky as it can be extremely punishing but those hours and hours at the gym have let this dress do the talking. I love the subtle beaded neckline and the fact it is one shouldered stops it being overly simple. I loved that she wore her hair in a ponytail, don’t we all wish we could have a pony like that?
Lupita, Lupita, Lupita. I’m always excited to see what she wears on the red carpet. She’s such a fun, bright and bold dresser and last night really emphasised that. This patterned Elie Saab number was unique and had a beautiful low v neck that was absolutely gorgeous and can we just take a moment to appreciate how gorgeous it looked fanned out? Also – that up do was stunning!

Dowdy Lady Edith is no where to be seen in this Vionnet design! What I love about this number is that the different fabrics don’t overwhelm the look as they are rather subtle. I adored the hair and make up as they really complimented the dress. I liked the sheer bottom half because it was unusual.

After the Golden Globes disaster, Rosamund got it completely right in this Dior dress. It should look like a sack but it screams runway dream to me. I love the hemline and the appliquéd black flowers and how they tie in perfectly with Rosamund’s gorgeous tousled bob and red lips.
I have to give a special shout out to these gorgeous ladies who, despite their dresses not being featured (and for good reason) I have to discuss their hair and make up. It wouldn’t be a beauty blog if I didn’t.
Brooke Davis, I love you. Sophia often confuses me with her ever changing hues in Chicago PD (don’t watch it – what are you doing?) because one minute she’s brunette, the next she’s all golden. I love, love her hair here – usually I’m not a fan of the ‘fob’ but this is pinned really well. Facially, we all know that Sophia could go sans make up and still look beautiful but her bronze smokey eye and nude lip combo was a sure winner.
Keira’s make up has Charlotte Tilbury written all over it! I love the deep smokey eye and chiselled cheekbones. Her hair looks so effortlessly bedhead I could cry because my hair certainly doesn’t look like that when I wake up. The ear-cuff added a gorgeous edgy vibe.
What looks did you like?

Love, Kate xo
