Revlon’s Colorstay range seems to constantly be growing and expanding. I absolutely love the Matte & Lacquer Balms that came out earlier in the year. They’ve just released the Colorstay Moisture Stains in a wide range of shades. I think there’s 8 to be exact and I was well behaved so I only have two for you today. Each shade is named after a different city – I bought Miami Fever and Rio Rush.
Just a quick note to say that whilst they retail for £7.99 each, Boots have an offer for 2 for £10 at the moment. I’d definitely recommend taking up this offer if you’re interested in picking some of these up.
Now, how to describe these…I would say they are quite gloopy when first applied and it can be a little tricky to get an even wash of colour. I find applying two layers your best bet as it can feel like the lips are rejecting the product, almost anyway. They kind of remind me of the YSL Glossy Stains but obviously a 1/3 of the price.
I picked up Miami Fever first as it swatched like a red-toned orange. I was a little disappointed with this as it does not apply as bright and I would it the streakiest of the two.
Rio Rush is my favourite of the two as it applies much better and it is the perfect bright pink that isn’t too in your face. I’d definitely recommend this for ladies who want a pop of colour without the hassle.
I’m quite impressed with these, I don’t find them too sticky at all and they are very moisturising on the lips. I think they make my lips look really juicy and full too. The product lasts a good few hours and you’re left with a subtle stain. I have found, however that they can often leave a bit of a lip line as they fade.
Have you tried these?
Love, Kate xo
