I’ve recently been introduced to Nip + Fab the accessible, affordable and effective brand, from the founder of luxury skincare super-brand, Rodial and today I have their Dragon’s Blood Fix* range to show you.
All the products can be bought separately or all together in a Christmas appropriate gift set.
The Dragon’s Blood Fix range is aimed towards de-hydrated skin which is in need of a good amount of plumping. All skin can become de-hydrated, not just drier skin – oily skin can be equally as de-hydrated too. This range is definitely catered to all skin types which makes it a great starting point for anyone who’s looking to branch out of the typical cleanse-tone-moisurise and add more steps into their routine.
Now, it’s safe to say I did think this had genuine Dragon’s Blood in it – *blonde alert* but alas it is an extract from the Croton Lecheri Tree which is where the name comes from. No need to worry Khaleesi, there’s no stealing of Dragon’s Blood around here! The sap from the tree has plumping and anti-redness qualities which are the main ingredient in this lovely range.
First thing’s first, I’m not a fan of the scent at all. I find it’s a tad too acidic and a little overwhelming when applying the products. Thankfully, the scent dies down and is almost undetectable.
So let’s chat the Dragon’s Blood Fix Cleansing Pads (£9.95)* – I’m not usually a cleansing pad/wipe fan but this to me, is a little luxurious post-cleansing, cleanse (say that ten times fast!) that I tend to favour on an evening. Not only do the pads come with good ol’ Dragon’s Blood to plump and get rid of redness but they also have other brilliant properties Salicylic acid (cleanse pores and aid exfoliation), Hyaluronic acid (hydrates and refines the skins texture) and Witch Hazel (reduce redness and tighten pores). There’s a generous 60 pads in the tub which I feel will last me a long time as I probably only use one pad at any one time. These definitely give my skin an added boost even though they leave a slightly tacky residue.
My favourite of the products has to be the Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum (£19.95)* which I use both morning and night. It’s a very lightweight, slightly tacky serum that gives an instant cooling sensation and sinks into the skin beautifully. I can see and feel that my skin is much plumper and bouncier (in a good way) pretty much right away. It’s a great boost of hydration between my toner and moisturiser.
Finally, there’s the Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Mask (£14.95)* that can be used one of two ways – either as a 10 minute wonder or an overnight treatment. Being the lazy bum that I am, I usually go for the latter. It’s much more of a thicker, gel like consistency than the serum and a little truly goes a long way. It does leave a relatively tacky feeling but this seems to disappear after a good 5/10 minutes of applying. This gives a great boost to the skin, especially when used overnight as the Amino Acids brighten the complexion. I can see a real difference in my skin when I apply this overnight. I probably use it once, maybe twice a week depending on how much my skin is needing a boost.
Overall, this is a great range from Nip + Fab because it targets so many different skin issues with just three products. The price point isn’t too expensive either, you’re getting good quality products for affordable prices. I’m thoroughly enjoying using them and I’m definitely going to be checking out more products from Nip + Fab.
Have you tried anything from Nip + Fab?
Love, Kate xo
