Sleek is a brand that I have only really tried certain products from – essentially lipsticks and eyeshadows, all of which I’ve been thoroughly impressed with. So, when these new Power Plump Lipsticks* (£5.49 each) landed on my doorstep, I lnow I was in for a treat.
These crayons give me major NARS vibes with the shades corresponding with the coloured base of the product. For me, that’s an immediate plus as I’m forever rooting in the bottom of my bag full of lipsticks for a certain shade.
These lipsticks come in 6 gorgeous shades and I think they’ve got them spot on. There’s lighter shades for the less daring and brighter, more vibrant shades for those who love a pop of colour.
The formula is pigmented but glossy on the lips to give a fuller look. The fragrance is quite minty and the product leaves that slightly stinging/buzzing sensation that you get from plumping products. That sensation lasts for a good 5 minutes before settling down.
Raving Rouge is one of the two brightest shades in the range and it’s a true, tomato red shade. This applied really nicely on the lips and gave a decent amount of pigmentation. It’s definitely an easy red to apply and wear.
Fully Fuchsia is the hot pink equivalent. It applied a little streakier than the red but it’s such a pretty colour that I didn’t mind the extra effort.
Colossal Coral is actually a lot nicer than I’d expected. I’m not massively a coral lipstick wearer as the more orange tones don’t often suit me. That being said, I loved this on my lips and I felt it really suited me.
Berry Burst is the darkest of the shades and I would say it’s more mauve than berry but it’s still a lovely shade. This was one of the easiest to apply!
Notorious Nude is one of my favourites for a super quick and easy daily swipe of colour. It’s not too brown nor beige and for me it’s the perfect glossy nude.
Power Pink is another favourite because it’s a soft pink that beautifully accentuates my lips. It’s a tad streaky which was a shame but with a little work it paid off.
I’m really enjoying these new releases from Sleek as they’re perfect for throwing in your handbag for top ups or if you’re going from day to night and need to switch it up. The plumping element does make my lips feel juicer but not necessarily bigger but that might be down to me having fillers already.
