Ahh spring time Sundays, they’re just made for lovely walks and soaking up any sunshine we can get. Last Sunday the weather was beautiful, who’d have thought 13 degrees would have us all in a frenzy?
I woke up feeling extremely drained and after watching a few episodes of New Girl, I decided a walk was in order. I’d have gone for a run but my Mum was coming with me so we went for a lovely little walk around our estate and made our way to my BFFs for a coffee and cuddles with her 12 week old boy and quality make up applying time with her 4 year old “Queen Elsa”. It was only a short walk but it felt nice to be outside and in the sunshine. Now I’m always one for needing to ensure my face is acceptable when venturing outside, even if I’m going to the gym. I definitely have the fear that I’ll bump into someone that really doesn’t need to see me sans make up. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for girl power but it just ain’t happening.
So, a simple face is required for the days when you can’t be bothered but still want to look socially acceptable, is definitely required.
To start, I apply a blob of L’Oreal Nude Magique Foundation in 100 Porcelain – this stuff is seriously lightweight and blends in beautifully, leaving a very natural low coverage. Then I follow up with my beloved NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla just to brighten those dark circles and conceal where the foundation doesn’t.
No matter what, eyebrows are essential. I don’t think I can go anywhere without them or mascara. True story. A sweep of MAC All That Glitters and lashings of YSL Baby Doll Mascara later and my eyes are done and dusted.
Now to add some colour back in my face with NARS Laguna Bronzer and a bit of blush, today’s choice was Dainty Doll Cream Blush in 001 which is a lovely rosy pink. To tie everything together I added Maybelline Colour Sensational Shine Gloss in Pink Shock which I conveniently forgot to photograph. Doh!
What do you tend to wear when you’re going minimal?
Love, Katie xo
