MAC X ELLIE

MAC Cosmetics previewed their MAC X ELLIE collection via social media last year and it’s safe to say they have a niche for collaborations with the worlds leading singers.

The collection is very nude and pink toned which immediately appealed to me as I love soft, wearable shades. It’s recently been released in stores and became available online a little time before. I picked up two products from the line and I have an unhealthy obsession with lipstick but it’s also safe to say, I’m on that blush hype right now.

I decided on the Powder Blush Duo in I’ll Hold My Breath (£23) which is a tad reminiscent of the MAC Rihanna Hibiscus Kiss from 2013, only a little lighter and softer in colour. I love the mix of bronzer with blush as I feel it makes the purchase more worthwhile. The bronzer is a warm toned, slightly shimmery colour which looks very brightening and flattering on the skin. The blush is a peachy pink that compliments the bronzer well and gives a lovely flush to the cheeks.  This is great for travel as it combines two products in one and what’s not to love about that?

I picked up theCremesheen Lipstick in Only You (£17) as I love the formula from previous experience plus the shade is a beautiful muted coral that gives the lips a juicy sheen. The price of the lipstick is more expensive than the permanent line which I suspect is because it is a collaboration which irks me a little as the only difference is the print on the packaging. That aside, I’ve been reaching for this shade regularly as it’s super easy to apply and feels moisturising and comfortable on the lips. The shade is universally flattering and gives my lips a nice boost.

mac-ellie-swatchI know a lot of the products are sold out online but if you’re able to pick any up from MAC boutique or department store counters, I’d recommend these in a heartbeat.

Have you tried any of this MAC X ELLIE collection?
