Well, hello there gorgeous thang!
I’d been debating picking up the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle for the longest time. It’s one of those popular and iconic MAC products that you kind of have to try at least once in your make up lifetime. So, I finally decided to pick it up the other month and I was horrified to find that MAC had re-packaged the MSFs with disastrous results. Being the make up snob that I am, I turned on my heels and left the counter.
Yup, I’m actually that much of a crazy make up lady!
Thankfully, I came across the old packaging at my local Cosmetics Company Store (thank you McArthur Glen!) and snapped up Soft and Gentle right away – and for a reduced price!

Soft and Gentle is described as “gilded peach bronze” but I’d say it was a peachy-toned champagne shade. This is a very pigmented highlighting product, you only need to use a small amount on the tops of the cheekbones and you can transform your look instantly. It’s very much a “wow” product because it gives such a lifted, brightened look to the cheekbones that is natural as it hits the light.
A lot of highlighters add a lot of shimmer or glitter to the face but this does more than that. It catches the light like no other highlighter I’ve tried. I don’t normally wear highlight on a day to day basis because I have quite an oily complexion but I’ve strangely found myself reaching for this every morning. I just add a small amount to the tops of my cheekbones and brow bone and it instantly adds a lovely radiance to my face.
What I also like about Soft and Gentle is that it’s not overly pale and would look beautiful on all skin tones. I can definitely see myself using this as a quick wash of eyeshadow too.
This product is very much a case of “living up to the hype” and I’m besotted.
What do you make of this MAC Mineralize Skinfinish?
Love, Kate xo
