MAC Rebel Lipstick – £14.00
This is the first of two posts featuring two of my newer MAC lipsticks which unfortunately, I’ve not yet had the chance to wear or really had the confidence to pull them off. Don’t you hate when you fall totally in love with a lipstick and then chicken out of wearing it because its a little more out there?
MAC’s fabulously berry Rebel is one of their best sellers and its easy to see why. It is described as a ‘mid tonal cream plum’ however I think it’s more on the berry red scale with a slightly blue tone. In the bullet Rebel looks much darker than it actually is, which can be a little scary upon first glance but the colour itself is much lighter and brighter than you’d think which I believe makes for a much more wearable shade. MAC lipsticks come in a variety of finishes with Rebel being a satin finish which overall have good colour payoff, a slight sheen and are less drying than a matte finish.
Usually with satin finishes I get a good 4-5 hour wear out of them before needing to re-apply. With the much bolder shades, such as Rebel they tend to last longer mainly because the colour has stained.
I definitely think this is an evening shade and would look fantastic with a simple eye and soft cheeks.
What do you guys think?
Love, Katie xo
