As I’ve mentioned time and time again, I’m a massive foundation fiend. I don’t know why but I’m instantly drawn to them, it’s strange because they’re certainty not the prettiest products out there. That’s not to say I’m not a fiend or junkie for other things, after all I wouldn’t have much to write about.
MAC Face and Body has been on my wishlist for as long as I can remember. I’ve tried a few MAC foundations previously but I wouldn’t say any would spring to mind as favourites. Personally, I don’t think of MAC and think of foundations in general. I finally caved and tried the foundation in store, the sales assistant used a MAC 109 brush to apply (again another long standing wishlist product) and I instantly loved the finish. Naturally, I snapped both the foundation and the brush up, after all there was a Debenhams 10% sale so I could hardly say no.
What I love about this foundation is how versatile it is, if you needed one foundation for any type of coverage this would be it. You can apply a small, light amount to have almost a tinted moisturiser level of coverage or build and layer to a full coverage. The finish is quite dewy but not particulatly glowy – I prefer it with a bit of powder as I’m still relatively new to this dewy base business. You can also use a darker shade to tan your legs as it works naturally to boost your skin. I’ve been using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply but I really need to get round to using my 109 to apply. One tip I cannot stress enough is to shake the bottle thoroughly as this is a water based foundation. With it being water based it is a tad on the runny side but not as bad as I expected.
I tend to wear this on an almost daily basis and I’ve worn it a few times for the evening and loved it. I like to wear it layered over my beloved Laura Mercier Radiance Primer as well for a really glowy, fresh finish.
Anyone else loving this foundation?
Love, Katie xo
