Look out 2015, here comes theBalm!

the-balm
Whilst theBalm may not be a new brand in 2015, I can guarantee you it will be on the rise.

With it’s cheeky, vintage packaging and beautiful colours, the brand has definitely caught my eye in 2014 and I see 2015 being no different. I’ve tried a few products from the brand, albeit all powder products and I have been so impressed with their offerings. What’s best of all is the price point, with the priciest product being less than £40 – which is surprising in today’s mid-range market!
I thought I’d do a little post about a few products I’ve been using recently but before you scroll down any further, please check out my previous post on theBalm products.

First up today is the beautiful Balmsai Eyeshadow and Brow Palette* which has to be the best mix of shades I’ve come across. There is a wide range of nudes, brights, mattes and shimmers which makes it a great go-to palette for any look. The pigmentation is top-notch with these shadows and they have very little fall down at all. As with the Nude’Tude palette I bought earlier this year, they are  very buttery and blend beautifully. Usually, the most adventurous I get with my eyeshadow is a bit of green but I am very tempted to create a look with the brighter shades. The palette comes with two plastic shaping stencils for the brows and liner, I personally find these a little bit of a faff so I won’t get much use out of them. Although, they would be great for someone just starting out with make up. Look out for this palette coming to the UK soon.
the-balm-blushes
Delving into the world of blush and I have two gorgeous shades here, one of which is a good dupe for NARS Orgasm and dare I say I prefer it! The blushes are marketed as shadows as well as blushes which I rather like because it’s promoting a multi-functional use of the product.

Cabana Boy* is one of three ‘boy’ blushes – the other two in the trio are, Downboy and Fratboy. This is a great, rosy pop of pink on the cheeks that really brightens the face and adds colour to the skin. I think this would work well on all skin types, especially pale skinned gals. It has a slight shimmer to it which adds a lovely luminosity to the skin.

Hot Mama* is very similar to NARS Orgasm but it’s everything I wish NARS Orgasm would be on my skin. It’s peachy with a beautiful highlight to it that really draws the eye to the cheeks in a subtle way. This would look beautiful as a stand alone highlight on darker skin tones! I love wearing this when I want a really glowy, dewy skin.
So impressed with these products and it’s safe to say I will be adding to my collection this year. I can’t wait to try their other products to see if they’re just as fabulous as their powder ones.
Don’t forget you can buy theBalm in the UK over at Feel Unique and ASOS.

*Whilst I was sent these products by theBalm to review, all my opinions remain my own. I love their products and have done since I picked up the Nude’Tude palette in June last year. That’s why I am taking the time to promote the brand, not because they expect me to 🙂 *
