LIP WEEK : TANYA BURR LIPGLOSS IN PICNIC IN THE PARK

When I heard Tanya Burr was releasing her own line of lip glosses and nail polishes – I was extremely excited. I’ve followed Tanya’s YouTube channel for 4 years, pretty much since she started and I couldn’t be happier for all she’s achieved and will continue to achieve. I think the first video of Tanya’s that I watched was a tutorial using MAC Viva Glam Gaga which was one of my first MAC lipstick purchases way back in the day. She’s come so far since and it’s truly inspiring to see – so as her new line launches I thought I’d give a little review on the gloss I bought.
Firstly, I ordered from FeelUnique last Thursday afternoon and it arrived safe and sound on Saturday morning, I was super impressed with the speedy delivery. I ordered the shade Picnic in the Park which funnily enough, Tanya wore to her launch event. I decided I couldn’t go wrong with a pretty pink shade right?
The packaging isn’t anything to write home about but it’s durable and seems a good quality – I won’t be worrying about it bashing about in my bag. I must say I’m really impressed with the gloss – the formula is perfect for me, especially as I can be really fickle and picky with lipgloss. Firstly, it’s not sticky in the slightest which was my first concern thrown out of the window. The colour is nicely pigmented, not too opaque but you can build the colour depending on how liberally you apply it and it’s super smooth on the lips. I have found I not only like wearing it alone but also with a really pigmented shade of lipstick/crayon underneath. I’ve been wearing it with Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive – such a lovely combo (I’m wearing it in my TMI video that will be up this week). I’d say the wear time for these are around 2-3 hours and they remain comfortable on the lips. The applicator is lovely, it’s not your usual doe-foot style but a much flatter (but still in the same vein) and the gloss smells like strawberries which is an added bonus.
Super impressed by this release from Tanya and I think the price point is spot on – at £6.99 you’re getting a gloss that’s just as good as the ones you get from the drugstore brands. I’d like to get my hands on some more shades and possibly a nail polish or two.

Have you snapped any of these up yet?
Love, Katie xo
