HELLO TOO FACED.

Y’know, I’ve never actually tried anything from Too Faced. Its one brand I’ve always had my eye on but never seemed to bring home. That was until I had a cheeky Debenhams voucher for my birthday and I finally got my hands on the imfamous Chocolate Bar Palette!

This 16 shadow strong palette is infused with cocoa powder and contains a mix of shimmer and matte shades. Now, I hear the cries already – “not another neutral palette!” but bare with me. This isn’t your average neutral palette, no no. It has a wonderful mix of warm and cool shades and whilst there are delicious browns, there are a few unexpected colours.

What I love about this palette is that the mattes are equally as good as the shimmers, they’re super pigmented and apply beautifully. Sometimes palettes struggle with a good mix as usually the shimmers are much better than the mattes. For some reason matte shades are hard to get right.

I absolutely love wearing Milk Chocolate on it’s own with a bit of liner – it looks a little boring in the pan but it’s the most beautiful, soft brown eye. Candied Violet is gorgeous under the eye for a pop of colour and I really want to try attempt a look using that as the main lid colour.

(Shadows used: White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Hazelnut & Cherry Cordial)
The formula of these shadows is lovely, they’re all really pigmented and buttery. There isn’t much fall out from the shadows although you do tend to pick up quite a bit of product when using them. However, they do blend extremely well and all the shades seem to compliment one another nicely.
There has recently been a new version released, the Semi-Sweet Palette which is due out in the UK v. soon!
I’m really impressed with my first venture into Too Faced and it’s definitely given me the urge to try more of their products. In fact I’ve got a list as long as my arm! Thankfully, the brand is available in many stores such as Debenhams and Boots plus you can purchase them online at ASOS, LookFantastic and Escentual.
What Too Faced products do you recommend?
