I shared my hair heroes last week and there’s a few face favourites I’ve been loving recently too.
After going through a phase of fuller coverage foundations, I’ve been reaching for the fabulous Rodial Skin Tint+* (£45) on a daily basis. I’m usually not a fan of tinted moisturisers, they just don’t give enough coverage and often they disappear from my face in an instant. That being said, I absolutely love this Rodial one – it’s lightweight, buildable coverage and blends perfectly. I use a mix of two shades – Capri and Hamptons to get the perfect shade for me but I know I’ll be lighter in the winter so Capri will be my most used shade. With SPF20, the skin is protected from UV damage.
Other benefits include:
- Amino-peptide complex helps skin regeneration and repair to reduce signs of ageing
- Advanced hydra-fluid formula acts as an extension to your skincare regime
- Provides a natural finish to look like a perfected second skin
I’ve found myself reaching for an old favourite: Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Oil Free (full size £29) which comes in this handy travel sized tube. It’s a lotion like texture which sinks into the skin with ease. The formula prevents oil forming which breaks down your foundation and it has a high water content to prevent dehydration. When it comes to setting sprays – I’m completely obsessed. I’m currently using the NYX Cosmetics Matte Finish Setting Spray (£7) which provides a long lasting finish post-application but also keeps everything matte. It doesn’t leave my make up flat in the slightest but keeps my t-zone at bay. Plus it’s super affordable!
Powder wise I am completely obsessed with the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light (£17.32) after finding the brand at VitaminGrocer. Whilst it’s significantly higher in price, I don’t mind because we don’t stock PF over here but mainly because it’s a fabulous bronzer. So smooth! It blends perfectly and really adds a wonderful natural glow to the face. Oh and it smells like coconut – win.
Finally, a product I discussed in yesterday’s S&G post – Soap & Glory Made You Blush in Rosy Chic (£9) which is the perfect mix of pink/peach for all makeup looks plus the colour is that level of pigment where it adds the right amount of colour that can’t really be over-applied. The formula is velvety and smooth giving an even application.
