I recently received the May Cohorted Beauty Box* (£19.99) and my first thoughts when I opened the box was ‘holy sh*t!’ – I couldn’t believe there was a full sized eyeshadow palette enclosed.
After reviewing the March edition, it comes as no surprise that once again, I’m extremely impressed with the quality of these boxes. It’s crazy to think they are full of such amazing products month in, month out for such an affordable price. This month’s box is worth a whopping £92.50 and 5 of the 300 boxes sent out will include an Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit!
The only downside with the boxes is that they sell out extremely fast and even the pre-orders go before you’ve had time to get to the checkout. The June/July boxes are already sold out – although on the first of each respective month, more will be available so keep your eyes open.
This month’s box features the following products:
Too Faced Exotic Colour Eyeshadow (Enchanted Garden) £15.00
Dolce & Gabanna Lace Nail Lacquer (Perfection) £19.00
Cargo Vintage Escape Eyeshadow Palette £35.00
Michael Kors Lip Lacquer (Dame) £23.50
What excited me was that I hadn’t actually tried anything from Cargo or Michael Kors‘ beauty range – it’s always nice to be able to try luxury products in a beauty box. I can’t wait to try everything in the box, especially the eyeshadow palette…
Cargo Vintage Escape Eyeshadow Palette
I couldn’t believe this huge, 12 eyeshadow palette was included in the box – it’s stunning! What attracted me most was that the shades aren’t your typical neutral palette choices. There’s a gorgeous deep blue/grey and a leafy green along with a mix of cool and warm toned cream and browns. The palette has a nice mix of matte and almost foil like formulas. When I swatched them, the lighter shades didn’t transfer as pigmented as I’d hoped but the darker shades sure make up for that!
(L to R: Harvest Moon, Cuddle, Frolic, Cinnamon, Twigs & Black Crow)
(L to Right: Crisp, Hot Cocoa, Autumn, Withered Leaves, Rustic & Chestnut)
Dolce & Gabanna Lace Nail Lacquer (Perfection)
This D&G polish is packaged so beautifully and the shade is a gorgeous creamy nude that’s perfect for wearing all year round plus the bottle is huge!
Michael Kors Lip Lacquer (Dame)
This looks pretty scary in the bullet but thankfully, it sheers out to a fruity, berry shade that I think would look really effortless and gorgeous in Winter. I love the sleek, gold packaging – even if it’s finger print prone and the lipstick itself has ‘Michael Kors‘ engraved in it like Tom Ford.
Too Faced Exotic Eyeshadow (Enchanted Garden)
Whilst my March box included another one of these Exotic Eyeshadows, I’m actually happy that there’s another one in this months box. Firstly, the shade is gorgeous and unlike anything else in my collection and more importantly, the formula is extremely pigmented, buttery and blends well. Oh and it’s small enough for your travel bag.
Overall, I’m thrilled with the box and it excites me for the future boxes and what goodies they will include. I definitely think it’s worth the money, heck it’s over £70 saved.
