I’ll start by saying that I have relatively oily skin and I was surprised this delight from Clarins, which is marketed for those with normal to dry skin.
Clarins Hydra Quench Cream has become my go-to daily moisturiser over the past few months despite it not being aimed at my skin type. I picked up a travel size sample as a gift with purchase a little while back and once I’d used that up, I took the plunge and bought the full sized version.
Why does it work with my skin so well?
Firstly, Hydra Quench is a very lightweight moisturiser which suits my oiler skin. There’s nothing worse than that moment when a moisturiser takes forever to sink into your skin before you apply your make up. The cream sinks into my skin quickly and I was happy to find that I was not left with an oily sheen to add to my already oily t-zone.
I don’t know whether it’s the warmer weather that makes this moisturiser agree with me but along with it being lightweight – it’s extremely hydrating and it leaves my skin feeling rejuvenated and plump. During these warmer months, my skin has been a tad drier and rather de-hydrated. By using Hydra Quench and my Avene Soothing Moisture Mask, my skin has been looking and feeling much healthier and brighter.
At £35, it’s not the cheapest moisturiser on the market but it’s a generous 50ml pot of joy that my skin is really appreciating right now.
I’m definitely eyeing up the Hydra Quench Cream-Gel for Normal to Combination Skin for the winter months, which is available via the Clarins website.
