BOURJOIS HAPPY LIGHT FOUNDATION

I recently featured this latest Bourjois foundation in my November Favourites post/video and here’s the accompanying blogpost!

I’m a foundation fiend, it’s been said before. I strive to have the most flawless base I can and this results in an overflowing foundation collection that doesn’t show signs of slowing down. Giorgio Armarni Luminous Silk I’m coming for you!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is one of the only foundations I’ve repurchased so Happy Light had a lot to live up to. Firstly, this foundation is probably the nicest smelling of them all. Usually I find foundations smell absolutely rancid (MAC Studio Fix Fluid and Revlon ColorStay to name but a few) but this is strangely really nice, it’s almost like baby powder but not. It’s hard to describe so stop what you’re doing, race down to Boots and have a whiff.

This foundation is all about luminosity without overloading yo face with glitter. It’s a really lit from within foundation that’s got an almost satin finish – it’s not too dewy nor is it too mate. It kind of sits in the middle which suits me just fine. I wear the shade 51 Rose Vanilla and I’ve found it’s best to go lighter as the shades don’t follow the same numbering as the other Bourjois foundations (I’m 55 Dark Beige in Healthy Mix Serum) and I’ve found it does oxidise a little bit so I really do urge people to go lighter than they’d think.

It’s a light to medium coverage and can be layered for more coverage without being cakey in anyway and works perfectly with a good ol’ buffing brush. Also the bottle is really cute but I find the lid gets filthy as there tends to be a bit of residue with each pump but it’s not to the foundations detriment at all.

I’m loving wearing this at the moment and I think it’ll suit me well in the summer too. All year round foundations are the best.

Have you tried this?

Love, Katie xo
