I first ventured into the world of Bite Beauty last year when I picked up the Deconstructed Rose Lip Library which sold out like hot cakes.
The brand is becoming quite popular and I believe it will continue to do so over the course of 2015. The glosses are absolutely lovely so I ended up picking up a little travel set on my way to the counter in Sephora in Sydney.
I knew I liked the glosses so it was inevitable that I’d move onto the lipsticks next. Sadly, once again, I can’t locate the set on the website which sucks but if you can get near a counter, definitely give the shades a swatch. This is the Bite Beauty Colour + Shine To Go Set ($15) which comes with three travel sized lip products – one gloss and two Luminous Creme Lipsticks.
The lipgloss included is called Sante, which is a creamy light pink shade. I love the DR library formula but there’s something a little off about the taste this gives off which really puts me off. The colour applies a little streaky which isn’t at all like my others. I think it would work better applied over the top of a lipstick but on it’s own, it’s just not for me.
The lipsticks are super tiny and have to be used carefully as they can feel like they’re going to break. The first shade in the set is Fig, a nude rosy shade that accentuates the lips really well. These lipsticks are very moisturising and give the lips a really healthy sheen and wash of colour.
The other shade in the set is Pepper, a dusky rose shade that is a little more neutral and slightly more brown toned than Fig. It’s very natural on the lips and almost gives the illusion of healthier, tinted lips. They are very comfortable on the lips and whilst they don’t last a particularly long time but they’re nice regardless.
I’d love for Bite to come to the UK as I think the brand would do well in our market. They’re a very natural and healthy focused brand that produce high quality products that are almost tasty enough to eat.
What’s your favourite barely there lip?
Love, Kate xo
