It’s safe to say I’ve been on a bit of a contour hype recently. Anything that promises me cheekbones like Kim Kardashian-West – I’m all over.
I’ve been salivating over the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit since I spotted it on Sephora a few months ago. It took it’s sweet time coming over to our fair shores here in the UK and after many weeks of hovering over the ‘add to basket’ button, I finally caved and this pricey (£45 – yikes!) palette made it’s way to me a couple of weeks ago.
Firstly, I feel like I’m always talking about products that are sold out and I apologise for that. I’ve just checked the Cult Beauty website and this is that popular they won’t be getting any into stock until January 2015! It’s even sold out on the Sephora website at the moment. Luckily, the Anastasia Beverly Hills store ships internationally.
Yes, this is a palette of powders but I am 100% besotted. This palette hasn’t really left my face since I picked it up and – spoiler alert! – it’ll definitely be in my August favourites.
These shades are extremely pigmented, especially the darker ones so there’s no need to overload the your brush with powder at all. I apply the product in soft, sweeping motions up my cheekbone and within as little as two stokes my cheekbones are looking amazing! I hardly have to make any effort at all when applying which I absolutely love. I tend to favour the middle shade, Fawn when applying my contour as it’s the perfect shade for my skin tone.
Legit cheekbones in one go!
The highlighting is what really sold it for me, the powders work beautifully to lift the skin and add vibrancy which compliments the contour perfectly. There’s one slightly shimmery shade, Sand which I use as a final touch to add a bit of sheen to my cheek and brow bones.
I am seriously obsessed with this palette, I can’t believe I waited so long to finally pick it up. I have tried three products from Anastasia Beverly Hills and I’ve loved each one and quite honestly I’ve found them to be rather life changing! This brand is absolutely brilliant and I hope it becomes more widely available here in the UK.
The ABH website now has three different contour palettes to suit all skin tones. Plus, the shades are removable so you can buy refills. Also, you can now create your own palette tailored to your preferences!
If you guys want to see a tutorial on how I achieved this look, please let me know and I’ll get a video filmed so you can see it in action.
Love, Kate xo
