An introduction to Eye of Horus Cosmetics

Eye of Horus is relatively new to the cosmetics world and in a short time the Australian brand has made its way to the UK shores and I’ve got two products to discuss today. The brand is driven by all things eye related, hence the name and takes pride in basing its products on the Ancient Egyptians – the originators when it came to beauty and mystique.

First up, the product I’ve been loving the most, the Brow Define* in Dynasty (£15.00) – the perfect dupe for good ol’ Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. I think every brow pencil should come with a spooly, it’s kinda the law these days. The colour is a great match for my darker brows and I’ve been reaching for this more often than my Brow Wiz which is very unlike me. The pencil gives a good amount of control and fills in any sparse areas with minimal effort.
The other product I have been trialling is the Goddess Mascara* (£19.00) which aims to lengthen and strengthen your lashes whilst remaining smudge and clump-free. The wand is hourglass shaped with tight, neatly packed plastic bristles for maximum impact. I find the brush to be a little scratchy when I’m applying but I can move and wiggle it to get more volume and thickness. I quite like this mascara, especially for my bottom lashes but it just isn’t quite at the level of my current favourite, Benefit Roller Lash.
Overall, I’m really impressed with the products I’ve tried and I can definitely see the brand becoming very popular over here. The eye pencils look beautiful and there’s a whole host of shades available.
