It’s no secret I am a highlighter addict – you just can’t beat that delightful glow on the cheekbones.
I picked up the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Gleam (£39) a couple of months ago and it’s safe to say it’s not left my daily rotation since. This huge 4 shade kit is a glow lovers dream. I purchased two of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminators (£28) last year and I much prefer this kit. That’s not to say the Illuminators aren’t fabulous because they are but the Glow Kits have more variety but also the shades can be layered to create even more glow and it’s nice to custom blend shades.
There are currently 2 kits available with a 3rd en route and I personally prefer a pink toned highlight so I picked Gleam over the more popular That Glow. I absolutely adore all 4 shades as they’re unlike other highlighters I own.
The formula is spot on – beautifully pigmented without being overwhelming and they blend perfectly onto the skin plus they don’t budge all day. I’ve used this kit daily since I got it and I have seen no signs of hitting pan anytime soon.
Let’s get onto the main reason I’m writing this post – the shades. Though the palette is cool toned and mainly pink, there is one golden almost bronze shade called Mimosa which I love using as a base shade and layering a lighter one over the top for an extra bit of glow. Hard Candy is such an unusual shade as it has this wonderful pink iridescence that I’ve never come across before. It catches the light in the most unusual and eye catching way.
Easily the most reached for shades are Starburst (a cool toned pink) and Crushed Pearl (a soft silver toned pink) because they are so incredibly wearable and are great layering shades.
I’m rather tempted to pick up That Glow and the soon to be released Sun Dipped because I’m 100% dependent on ABH providing me with glowy goodness. I get so many compliments on my highlighter *beams with pride* and I’m 99.9% of the time wearing at least one from the kit.
What’s your favourite highlight?
Love, Kate xo
