By now you’ll know my love of NARS is seemingly never ending.
I popped into Selfridges a couple of weeks back to repurchase my beloved NARS Laguna Bronzer and came away with this delightful bright orange lip pencil.
Can we just take a moment?
So the lip pencil I picked up was the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Timanfaya which is described as a “mandarin red” shade. I’d describe it as a bright orange with a slightly red tone. When I came to try find it online, it came to light that it’s actually part of the Spring 2014 collection and doesn’t look to be part of the permanent collection. Gah! Sod’s law right? I’d definitely go hunting for this at your local counter if bright orange lips are your thang!
Funnily enough, orange lips haven’t always been my thing. I found that I kind of stuck to pinks and nudes when my hair was pink and I wouldn’t have dreamt of trying an orange lip. Now my hairs a little more, erm natural I’ve decided to be a little more daring and it doesn’t really get more daring that Timanfaya.
The lovely sales assistant applied it to my lips just to I could be sure and I literally fell in love. I’d been eying up MAC Morange which is more of a neon orange but I wasn’t too sure it would suit me. Thankfully, Timanfaya ticks all the orange boxes and will be gracing my lips the next time I’m on a night out.
The formula of the Satin Lip Pencil is really lovely, very creamy without being too slippy. It’s got a good amount of sheen whilst keeping the pigment and a slight hint of matte. I find this lip pencil relatively long lasting especially for a non-matte lip colour. The colour doesn’t bleed and the pencil applies neat and precise with minimal effort.
I think I’ll have a few more of these on my radar!
Have you tried these?
Love, Katie xo
