LA ROCHE-POSAY EFFACLAR DUO

When there's lots of hype around a product, it's easy to get taken along with the wave and often get disappointed at the end. This is usually the case with skincare because its more personal than whether a shade of eyeshadow or lipstick suits you, because everyone's skin is different. What works for some, doesn't work for others.

So, with all the buzz around La Roche-Posay's infamous Effeclat Duo anti-imperfection gel I had my reservations for a while. What drove me towards trying it, was the fact that I couldn't find it anywhere. In fact it's sold out on Boots at the moment. So my inner child came out and my head was screaming 'I want! I want!'.

It wasn't until I watched the amazing LlyMlrs' review that I finally cracked and hunted it down.

So what's all the fuss about?

Firstly, this is a multi-functional product which always ticks a box for me. Designed to unclog pores and prevent breakouts but also to make your skin look smoother, this product also acts as a make up base. Basically, it's a super primer!

I've never really had bad breakouts, usually I get a few bad boys during my menstrual cycle but nothing too bad. However, I have found that in recent months my skin has had loads of little bumps (almost blemish like) appear especially all over my cheeks. I've found this a pain, especially when I'm wearing make up as it really shows through.

I've been using this morning and night for nearly two weeks and I've already seen a massive difference to my skin. It has a very light consistsncy and sinks into the skin quicky but leaves it feeling soft and nourtished. The little bumps have reduced and my skin feels a lot smoother and shows no sign of redness. In fact I've replaced my moisturiser with this, it's reduced the oil from my t zone and I couldn't be happier. My make up lasts longer and my skin is looking really healthy.

I am so happy I caved and managed to get my hands on this fabulous product. So much so, I'm going to try some other La Roche-Posay products because you know French skincare is the shiz.

Have you tried this, or other French skincare products?

Love, Katie xo

  1. This sounds so promising. I have acne-prone, sensitive skin, so this is right up my alley. Thanks for the review! :)
